october 20 update

10/20/2021

At last, we have great news to share with you on what’s been happening with Operation Rescue! We continue to move forward with the delicate and complicated work of getting at-risk families safely out of Afghanistan. We do want to be cautious in saying too much since we have seen some operations hindered or stopped where people ended up in even more danger because of too much publicity.

While there have been many challenges, we are pleased and thankful to report that your gifts have provided the way for several hundred people to leave Afghanistan on our aircraft in the past several days. Our operations have grown to where we work with a variety of trusted partners and now utilize land and air routes for moving people safely from Afghanistan. Several dozen people have made it to safety by land routes. We thank you for helping make all this possible.

What remains as one of the greatest challenges is finding countries and places where these people can legally arrive and live for the short or long term. Host countries are requiring payment in advance for lodging, food, and other support needs.

With underwhelming interest from governments and too many people, this is the time to urge citizens and lawmakers to make their voices known in support of keeping the promise to care for those who have worked with us, whether in government or with humanitarian organizations.

We rejoice and celebrate with you that our first aircraft has finally been allowed to fly! Thank you again for all you have done to move Operation Rescue to where we now are.

October 4 update

10/4/2021

Dear Supporters,

From day one, Operation Rescue has been a team effort. We started out as a group of concerned individuals united by our shared desire to save lives--and that is exactly what we continue to be. Whether you have supported Operation Rescue with a financial donation or the gift of your time, we want you to know that you are just as much a part of this effort as any of us. You saw a need and stepped in, and doing so took a tremendous amount of sacrifice. Your early action made our continued evacuation efforts what they are today. We’ll always be grateful for that.

As sensitive evacuation operations continue every day behind the scenes, we still need you as part of the team now more than ever.

OCTOBER 1 Update

Here are a few ways you can help:
Volunteer

If you have a skill you think would be useful to Operation Rescue and are interested in donating the gift of your time, please introduce yourself by emailing us at operationrescue@npraxisinternational.org.
Thank you so much to those who have already emailed in and volunteered,
We appreciate you!

Advocate

The United States Government continues to hold the greatest capacity for both enabling and hindering the Afghanistan evacuation effort. Speaking up with your elected representative is a great way to keep the policy spotlight on the evacuation and advocate for actions that will improve America’s response. Attached are simple talking points to get you started.
